The Meaning of Colour

When choosing a colour for your brand or logo it's not always as simple as just going with your favourite colour. Colours are associated with emotions. Going back to nature, animals that can poison you tend to be marked with red, yellow or black. When healthy plants are usually green. Clean, healthy, inviting water is blue or turquoise while polluted and dangerous is brown and murky. If you look at some of the biggest brands you will find companies in specific industries will use similar brand colours. McDonalds and Burger King for example both use Red and Yellow.
