The second principle, or rule of design is Balance Every element on the page has a weight, or presence. This is achieved through colour, as well as size of element. You can achieve balance by creating a symmetrical layout, equal sizes of text on opposite sides, and image In the middle for example. Symmetrical design is always easy on the eye and easy to comprehend but runs the risk of being boring. Asymetrical design is an alternative, balancing a single large element with several smaller elements opposite, The layout is not even but visually appears balanced.
