What a Difference a Year Makes

It’s time to light the candles again. JuliaVDesign is celebrating it’s second birthday today! It’s been an amazing year for me and the business. I’ve worked on some amazing projects and met some fantastic people this year. So in case you missed it here are some of the highlights.

‘Keep on Running’

In July I joined some of the ladies of the Bedford Reconnection Community, and a few others in

running the 5K Race For Life. Having done NO running for over 20 years it was a massive personal achievement completing the course in 43 minutes. As a team we raised £330 for a great cause. If anyone would like to join me in the 10k this year I might take that on too.

‘Stand and Deliver’

Also in July I was brave enough to come out from behind my computer screen and had a stand at the Interlink Summer Expo. It’s the first time I’ve been on the exhibitors side of the table and it was a great experience getting to know the other stand holders as well as meeting some lovely visitors. Thank you to my assistant Daljit from DSV Accounting who even agreed to wear a t-shirt with my pink logo on it.

‘Girl on Fire’

September was another big charity challenge. This time walking on fire for the Beds & Northants

MS Therapy Centre. Another team effort, Bron Webster (Multiple Success) Ali Moore (BeMoore) Jane Tate (Revital U), joined 13 other brave ladies and gentlemen to walk the 20ft of hot embers to raise over £3600 to support the centre.

‘What a Feeling’

What a way to round off the year. Beds Business Women, Self Employed Woman of the Year! It’s still sinking in. I am overwhelmed to have won this award. It was lovely to spend the awards evening with so many talented ladies who have achieved so much with, or in their businesses. It’s a cliché to say everyone deserved to win but I really don’t know how the judges could choose between some of the candidates for the different awards. If you have ever thought about entering for an awards I would recommend you do so. In the days when work is slow or you have those self doubting thoughts it is a great way to evaluate just how far you have come and what you have achieved.

‘Bye, Bye, Bye’

So that is it from me for now. A huge thank you to everyone for all their support over the last year, as clients, colleagues, friends and family. It’s been a amazing year and I can’t wait to see what happens over the next 12 months.
